China Journey was born from a simple frustration: why is it so hard for North Americans to visit China confidently? We set out to change that.
How China Journey Started
In 2009, our founder Wei Chen returned to Beijing after 8 years in the US with a new perspective: China was extraordinary, but almost impossible to navigate for Western visitors — language barriers, visa confusion, unreliable guides, and a total lack of trustworthy English resources.
He started guiding a few friends and families from his US network. Word spread. By 2015, China Journey was a full-time operation, and by 2020 (brief pause aside), we had helped over 400 North American families discover China's wonders.
Today we're a small, passionate team that cares deeply about the quality of every single trip we run. We're not a massive tour company — we're the team you'll actually talk to.

Born in Beijing, educated in the US. Wei has 15+ years of experience guiding North American travelers through China. Fluent English, deep cultural knowledge, impossible to stump.

Operations & Logistics
The engine behind the smooth experience. Li coordinates every train ticket, hotel, and permit — so nothing is ever left to chance. Based in Shanghai.
